He [God] spoke and galaxies whirled into place, stars burned in the heavens, and planets began orbiting their suns - words of awesome, unlimited, unleashed power. He spoke again and the waters and lands were filled with plants and creatures, running, swimming, growing, multiplying - words of animating, breathing, pulsing life. Again he spoke and man and woman were formed, thinking, speaking and loving - words of personal and creative glory. Eternal, infinite, unlimited - He was, is and always will be the maker and Lord of all that exists". ~ Introduction to John. NIV.
“This is my Father’s world, And to my listening ears All nature sings, And round me rings The music of the spheres. This is my Father’s world: O let me ne’er forget That though the wrong Seems oft so strong, God is the Ruler yet." — Maltbie D. Babcock (1858-1901), pastor and preacher.
A thought to ponder:-
‘God has permitted a flood of light to be poured upon the world in discoveries in Science. But even the greatest minds, if not guided by the Word of God, become bewildered in their attempts to investigate the relations of science and revelation. Human knowledge is partial and imperfect, therefore many are unable to harmonize their views of science with Scripture. Many accept mere theories as scientific facts, and they think God’s Word is to be tested by ‘science falsely so called’. Because they cannot explain the Creator and His works by natural laws, Bible history is regarded as unreliable. Those who doubt the Old and New Testaments, often go a step further and doubt the existence of God. Having let go their anchor, they beat about on the rocks of infidelity’. – The Great Hope.
