THE HUMBLEST FLOWER
From the tip of a long stem,
a tulip, swathed in dark velvet petals
humbly bows its head.
Illuminated in a shaft of light
the symmetry is exposed; its quintessence
embraced by rays of blue and white.
Fingers dusted with pollen reach out,
as if to say, “Enjoy the day -
continue searching for the light.”

Love this post! A local town celebrates a Tulip Festival every year, a nod to Dutch who first settled here.

It must be quite an event! I have never been to a tulip festival, but would love to…all those colours and flowers…heavenly.

It is a fun 3-day celebration in May with parades, shows, good food, and of course, beautiful tulips!
