Painted Fantasy Characters.

[This post contains 9 painted images, set in 3 collages]

I usually paint realistically, but I find that more and more these days, I am painting something that leans towards fantasy or whimsy. I enjoy the freedom that comes with this kind of art. It does not require much planning. I start a drawing and paint it and see where the process leads me. Instead of me leading it – so to speak. Faces I enjoy, because I can design and decorate them any which way I choose.

Fantasy Faces. Mixed Media.

I like to do a series of faces. They can be arranged in a collage and there is a lot of design possibilities for collages. There are three different arrangements in this post.

Each character has a name which suits its particular design or colour. The names are (from left to right), Cherry, Masque, Frond, Aqua, Blossom, Magenta, Frutti, Squaw, and Mosaic. Blossom is my favorite!

I would love to know which one is your favorite? If you do not like any of them, that is quite okay.
